About Us
History
Grace Community Church is a relatively new Church which The City Church Canterbury, in conjunction with other Newfrontiers churches in East Kent, launched in Broadstairs in early 2007. (Newfrontiers is a growing, worldwide family of churches on a mission together.) It is part of a longer-term vision to plant several new churches around the Kent coast over the next ten years.
It was started with around a dozen people who moved from the Canterbury area to help establish the Church. Initially the Church met in a school in St. Peter’s but moved to The Ellington & Hereson School, Ramsgate in the latter part of 2009.
More people have been added to the Church from all across Thanet as well as others who have moved in to the area. The focus is not on growing the church through transfers from other churches but reaching into the community through running Alpha Courses and other events that provide a window on the Church.
